To make your decorations stand out and be memorable, choose a color scheme that matches the theme of your party. When it comes to decorations, the possibilities are endless with a watermelon theme. You can use actual watermelons as centerpieces or carve them into fun shapes and use them as vases for flowers. Next, add some custom banners to the photo booth. Our Zazzle shop has a variety of watermelon-themed banners that you can customize with your text. Hang them across the top of the backdrop or along the sides of the photo booth to add some extra flair.

Finally, remember the pendants! Our Zazzle shop offers a range of watermelon-themed pendants that you can use to decorate the photo booth. Hang them from the ceiling or attach them to the backdrop to create a fun, festive atmosphere.

With these custom decorations from our Zazzle shop, your watermelon-themed photo booth will surely be a hit at your next birthday party!

FOOD AND DRINKS

Watermelon Food Table
DECORATE YOUR FOOD TABLE

If you're planning a watermelon-themed party, you'll want to create a fun and festive atmosphere for your guests. A great way to do this is by decorating your food table with items from Metro-Events on Zazzle.

Start by covering your table with a tablecloth and/or a table runner; I have created both to coordinate with this watermelon theme. Then, place a large watermelon in the center of the table as a centerpiece.

Next, incorporate the watermelon-themed items you've purchased from Metro-Events on Zazzle. Use the kitchen towels to wrap around the handles of pitchers filled with refreshing watermelon drinks. The paper plates can be stacked near the food area, featuring a fun design of watermelon slices. The paper cups can be filled with watermelon-flavored juice or soda. The paper napkins can be folded neatly and placed next to the plates, featuring a matching watermelon pattern. Finally, use the paper coasters to set under glasses or cups to prevent water stains on your table.

For an extra touch, add some watermelon balloons or cutouts around the party area to create a cohesive watermelon theme.

With these simple decorations, your guests will have a "juicy" time at your watermelon-themed party!

ACTIVITIES

No birthday party is complete without fun games and activities; you'll want to include fun activities for your guests. Here are some ideas for a watermelon-themed party.

  1. Watermelon carving contest: Host a competition for the best-carved watermelon. You can provide various carving tools, such as melon ballers, and encourage guests to get creative with their designs.

Watermelon Summer Party

2. Seed spitting contests: A summer favorite and enjoyable activity at watermelon-themed parties.

  • Gather the necessary materials: You will need a ripe watermelon, ample outdoor space, and some willing participants.

  • Cut the watermelon into slices: Cut it into pieces large enough to hold a decent number of seeds but not so large that they are challenging to handle.

  • Eat the watermelon: Before the contest begins, everyone should have the opportunity to eat as much watermelon as they want. This will allow them to practice spitting seeds and get a feel for how far they can go.

  • Establish the rules: Determine how far participants should stand from the starting line and whether they can take running starts. Decide how many seeds each person will spit on and how the winner will be determined.

  • Begin the contest: Have each person take turns standing at the starting line and spitting their seeds as far as possible. Measure the distance each source travels and keep track of the scores.

  • Declare a winner: After all, participants have had a chance to spit out their seeds, add up the scores and declare a winner.

  • Have a prize: It can be a simple prize like a watermelon or a gift card, or just bragging rights, but having a prize can make the contest more exciting and motivate people to try their best.

3. Watermelon Piñata: Fill a watermelon-shaped piñata with candy and toys, and let the kids take turns trying to break it open. This fun and playful activity will get everyone involved in the party.

Prepare the Watermelon Piñata Fill the Piñata with Summer Treats. Fill the watermelon piñata with anything you want, but we suggest filling it with summer treats like candy and fruit snacks. You can also add some small toys for children to play with after they break open their piñatas!

  • At Oriental Trading, a delightful assortment of watermelon candy is available, perfect for filling up your piñata. These sweet treats would be a great addition to your themed party, adding a touch of fruity fun to the festivities.

Hang Up High. Make sure you hang up your watermelon piñata high enough so everyone can reach it easily when your guests are ready to smash it open! It doesn't have to be too high, though--just enough so that no one gets hurt when they throw their first punch at this fun party activity!

  • Cut the watermelon into slices: Cut it into slices large enough to hold a decent amount of fruit but not so large that they are difficult to eat quickly.

  • Establish the rules: Determine how many watermelon slices each participant will need to eat and whether they will be allowed to use their hands or must eat with utensils. Decide how the winner will be determined (for example, the first person to finish all their slices or the person who completes the most in a set amount of time).

  • Begin the race: Have all participants sit at a table or stand at a starting line with their watermelon slices in front of them. Everyone should eat their watermelon as quickly as possible when the race begins.

  • Monitor the race: Monitor all participants to ensure they follow the rules and that no one is cheating. If necessary, have a referee or judge to help ensure fairness.

  • Declare a winner: Once all participants have finished their watermelon slices, determine the winner based on the predetermined rules. If there is a tie, have a tiebreaker round to determine the ultimate winner.

  • Celebrate: Congratulate the winner and celebrate with all participants by enjoying some more watermelon or other treats.

  • Determine the rules: Decide how many seeds each participant will be given to count and how long they will have to trust them. Will they be allowed to use tools like magnifying glasses or tweezers to help them count more accurately?

  • Distribute the seeds: Hand out the predetermined number of seeds to each participant and give them the allotted time to count them. Keep track of who has which seeds so everything is clear.

  • Collect the counts: Once the time is up, have each participant share their seed count with the group, either by writing it down or saying it aloud. Record each person's count.

  • Declare a winner: Determine the winner based on who had the most accurate count or closest to the number of seeds. If there is a tie, have a tiebreaker round to determine the ultimate winner.
